However, we have included the pension cost of each employee because that is an issue being discussed in the state legislature. For ease of searching, we have highlighted the total cost of each employee to the Anchorage taxpayer. Also note that these costs are not what the employee sees in his/her paycheck. It is the total cost of that employee to the employer, you.

Extra Info This data does not include federal employees who work for the Department of Defense, national security agencies, or other agencies where the publication of individual specific salary information would not serve the national interest. Additionally, this data is a best approximation for federal employees with a duty station in Alaska but may include employees with a duty station in another state.

As an example, the 2018 data available on the Alaska Salary Database includes 7,405 employees while there were at least 10,580 federal employees working in Alaska in March of 2018 according the the OPM FedScope data analysis tool.
